After Liverpool, Karen Carney becomes Leeds United and Marsch | Tech US News

Karney Carney believes Leeds United had all the answers in their game against Liverpool as the pressure mounted on Jesse Marsch.

The American went into the game under enormous pressure, as White had not won since August.

Nevertheless, they put in a spirited performance and eventually won 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Crysencia Summerville.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show (31/10, 2.17pm), Carney said: “There was pressure on Marsch but Leeds had all the answers. Liverpool really didn’t look their best. They were 12km down towards Leeds.”

A false dawn?

Leeds can’t win a game once and then go on a drought for the next few weeks.

They need to consistently produce results along the way, as this is the only way Marsch will prove he deserves the job at Elland Road.

A poor result against Liverpool could have spelled the end of his time at the club, but the win doesn’t mean all the nonsense has now gone to nothing.

Two and a half performances now ahead of the World Cup could suggest things are about to get worse for Marsch and the Leeds board need to be ready regardless of their replacement.

The new manager, if the American is sacked, can use the month-long break to get used to life at Elland Road and can use it as a pre-season.

After sacking Marcelo Bielsa, it didn’t take them long to get Marsch over the line, and they must have a similar plan in place for the American.
