Ally McCoist makes a fantastic confession of Celtic fear | Tech US News

Both Celtic and Rangers continued to disappoint in the Champions League with neither side managing to even win a game of football. At least the Hoops performed well and were let down by their finishing. However, this cannot be said even for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team, which recorded the worst result in the history of the group stage of the European elite competition, as they lost every game by quite a margin.

Ultimately, neither Celtic nor Rangers’ Champions League seasons were “make or break”. The domestic competition is the bread and butter of both clubs, and that’s where Ange Postecoglou’s side should be considered a step forward as they enter November.

Celtic are currently four points clear of Rangers in the Premiership table and both teams have done a great job to reach the semi-finals of the League Cup.

The biggest thing Celtic may have going for them at the moment, though, is their record against Rangers in some recent Glasgow derbies, which includes 3-0 and 4-0 wins at Parkhead. And Ally McCoist has admitted that is his biggest concern about his former side at the moment. According to The Scottish Sun, the Ibrox legend said:

“The bigger concern for me would be the level of performance from Rangers at Celtic Park in a couple of league games.”

It’s safe to say that Celtic have been getting the better of Rangers of late, Postecoglou’s side have won three times, while Van Bronckhorst has managed just one win in the Glasgow Derby, the other game ending in a draw.

Of course, the past counts for very little in football, so the Hoops can’t rest on their laurels or their recent Glasgow derby record.

But it gives them a huge psychological advantage. Not only did they beat Rangers at Parkhead, but also at Ibrox.
