Applications for admission to classes 6-9 can be submitted till November 30 by 5 pm through https://aissee.nta.nic.in. The application fee of Rs 650 can be paid online till 30th November till 11.50 pm. For scheduled groups, the fee is Rs 500 excluding bank charges.
The entrance exam (AISSEE – 2023) is expected to be held on January 8. Exam Centers in Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kozhikode. There will be no negative marks for wrong answers. Candidate must score at least 25 percent marks in each subject and 40 percent marks in aggregate. There is no minimum grade criteria for planned groups.
Entrance exams for the 6th grade will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and for the 9th grade from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Class 6 exam can be written in Malayalam or English while the latter can be written in English only.
Sixty-seven percent of the seats in each school are for candidates from the same country or Union territory. The remaining 33 percent of places are reserved for students from other parts of the country. Only one general application is required for all schools.
A pattern of reservations will be considered – 15 per cent for Scheduled Castes, 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribes, 27 per cent for Backward Communities.
Out of 90 seats in Kazhakkoottam Sainik School, 80 are for boys and 10 for girls in 6th standard. There are 17 seats in the 9th grade. Students from Kerala can also try for admission in other 32 Sainik Colleges across the country.
Age of applicants for 6th grade must be 10-12 years as on March 31, 2023. For 9th grade, age must be 13-15 years.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense has approved 18 new Sainik schools. Kozhikode Malapparamba Vedavyasa Vidyalayam is one of these 18 schools run in collaboration with the state government or private institutions. Only 6th grade admission is allowed in these schools. Seat Distribution: 40 percent of the seats are at the state level and 60 percent are at the school level.
For those students who are already studying at any of these 18 schools, a selection will be made at the school level based on the rankings of the applicants at these schools. During counselling, a student can choose any approved school. Those who are interested in taking admission in these schools have to submit the general application for the same.
