The Seasiders, led by James Ridge and Rob Plant, face Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the Challenge Cup this Saturday.

With the men’s team out of action for another month due to the Winter World Cup in Qatar, the Seasiders made it possible to attend the game for free.

This is not the first time Blackpool’s women’s team have played at Bloomfield Road. In 2011, the Seasiders beat Carlisle United 6-0 in their first competitive appearance at the ground.

Blackpool Girl and Ladies said: “Want to get your fix of ladies football this weekend? How about joining our ladies team at Bloomfield Road?

“Free entry to the stadium, so we just ask that the fans bring their maximum support and hopefully help the team win!

“Get down and show your support!”

Entry is free for all fans wishing to attend this weekend’s game at Bloomfield Road

The game, which kicks off at 2pm, will be free for fans, with seating available in Blocks N, P and Q.

Fans can enter the stadium from 13:00 via gate 15 in the south-west corner. Refreshments can be purchased at the kiosk in the hall.

“We want to bring the women’s football team under the auspices of the Community Trust,” director Brett Gerrity told supporters.

“Women’s football is growing so fast and we want to go on the journey with them to help the women’s team progress as far as possible.”

Chief executive Ben Mansford added: “Many clubs are making progress in women’s football through their community funds, enabling greater access to funding.

“Another thing that has made the club and Community Trust successful is that we are now one of 50 centers to be classified as an Emerging Talent Center for young girls in the area.

“This will see the Blackpool FC Community Trust Emerging Talent Center play against other football clubs that have been awarded this status. Hopefully this will help further progress.”
