Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday announced that it has achieved total sales of 54,096 vehicles in the month of June, a growth of 64%. The domestic automaker sold 26,620 SUVs last month, its second-highest SUV sales quarter in a row. The company attributes this success to strong demand for its models including the XUV700, Thar, Bolero and XUV300.

In the passenger vehicle segment including UVs, cars and vans, the company sold 26,880 units last month while its exports during the period were 2,777 vehicles. In the commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra sold 20,431 vehicles last month, including light commercial vehicle segments such as <2T، پک اپ،>3.5T and heavy commercial vehicles continued their growth momentum last month.

The company recently added another SUV to its lineup – the Scorpio-N at a starting price 11.99 lakh price hike for the Z2 Petrol MT variant. 19.49 lakh for the Z8 L diesel MT variant. The SUV is being made available in five trim options – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L in both diesel and petrol engine options. These prices are applicable on the first 25,000 bookings. “We had a blockbuster launch of the Scorpio-N and it has created tremendous buzz and anticipation,” said Vijay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra.

In a separate development, the Mahindra XUV700 bagged Global NCAP’s Safer Choice Award for being the safest car in India. The XUV700 SUV previously received a five-star safety rating. This title is only awarded to models that achieve a high level of safety performance and meet certain criteria, including offering Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and performance in accordance with UN regulations UN13H, UN140 or GTR8. Involves fulfilling needs. The model will receive a five-star score for adult protection and at least four stars for child occupant protection.
