ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn State Abington global studies faculty can apply for additional travel funding to support their research, thanks to a new partnership between the campus and Penn State’s Center for Global Studies (CGS).

CGS is now offering Global Research Impact Fellowships to support Penn State Abington scholars seeking to advance their work. Two types of awards are available: Global Studies Conference Travel Grants for faculty seeking to travel internationally to disseminate their research and network across disciplines; and Global Studies Research Fellowships for faculty seeking support to travel internationally to conduct research. Both awards offer faculty the opportunity to develop research projects with the potential for significant impact.

Global Research Impact Fellowships combine with and enhance existing institutional support (ie semester releases, sabbaticals, fellowships, faculty development grants) to help defray the costs of international research. Funds will be allocated as reimbursable travel expenses subject to all appropriate Penn State protocols and procedures.

Applications must be submitted and reviewed using the existing application process for travel support. All trips must be completed and funds fully expended no later than June 20, 2023.
