Admission procedure at DU:
While many universities are yet to decide on their admission process, DU launched the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal on September 12 and laid down detailed guidelines for admission to 79 UG programs in 67 colleges affiliated to the central university. Enrollment will take place in three phases, and classes are expected to begin on November 1.
Admission process:
1) In the first phase, students will have to pay a non-refundable one-time application fee. There will be fees ₹100 for SC, ST and PWBD category candidates and ₹250 for UR, OBC-NCL, EWS categories.
2) Candidates would then be required to fill all relevant details including email id and 12th class results. Details submitted during the CUET process such as name, photograph and signature etc. will be automatically linked on the CSAS portal. Extra care should be taken while filling the marks for class 12th as it would be the deciding factor in case of equal merit rating.
3) In the second stage, choose their program and college combination and fulfill their wishes. The faculty combination will also determine the priority order for allotment of seats. Finally, candidates must confirm the order of preference for each program and faculty by clicking the ‘submit’ button on or before the last day of the preference filing date.
4) In the third phase, the candidate will be allotted a specific seat and will be given a specific last date/time to ‘accept’ the seat. Once rejected, the seat candidates will no longer be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of CSAS-2022.
5) Once submitted, the candidate will have to pay their application fees to secure provisional admission to their chosen college.
6) The colleges will accept or reject the provisionally allotted place to the candidates after verification. Candidates can also opt for “upgrade” and will be considered in subsequent rounds of allotment subject to seat availability.
