Delhi University (DU) is all set to launch the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal through which eligible candidates can fill their applications for admission to undergraduate courses, Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh announced on Wednesday.
Due to the delay in the completion of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), the university admission process has also been postponed. All phases of the debut edition of CUET-UG were initially scheduled to conclude on August 20, but due to schedule changes, the exams concluded on Tuesday.
Delhi University will admit students through CUET results this year.
DU VC Yogesh Singh while speaking to a news agency PTI, “Very soon we will launch the CSAS portal for candidates. Work is in progress. We will start the admission process very soon.” Singh, however, did not give a tentative date for the launch of the CSAS portal, which is expected to be launched last week.
How will the admission process take place?
The new admission process through the CSAS portal will take place in three stages – submission of the CSAS 2022 application form, selection of programs and filling in preferences, and seat allocation and admission to the chosen course.
- In the first phase, the candidate will fill out the CSAS 2022 application form through the online portal.
- In the second phase, the candidate selects the program in which he wishes to secure enrollment. This phase can be done only after the declaration of CUET-UG Results 2022. After the declaration of CUET Results, candidates will have to confirm the programme-specific CUET-UG Merit Score.
- And in the third phase, candidates will be selected for the applied programs through merit list.
Earlier this month, DU informed that it will initiate the admission process for the new academic session and asked candidates to prepare certificates and documents.
In March, UGC authorized all central universities to admit students through CUET examinations.
CUET is now the second largest exam in the country, after NEET-UG exams, which has an average of 18 lakh registrations.
