NEW DELHI: Delhi University is likely to open a mid-term admission window in November for candidates who have not applied for admission to undergraduate programs within the stipulated time, an official said.
According to the schedule released by the university, the midterm admission window will open during the third round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) from November 5 to 7. The university has started the admission process for undergraduate courses for the academic year 2022-23. year last month. Enrollment is open for 79 UG programs at 67 faculties, departments and centers. The programs include 206 BA course combinations.
Admission through CSAS takes place in three stages – submission of application form CSAS-2022, selection of programs and filling of preferences, and seat allocation and admission. The last day to submit these was Wednesday. A candidate who ranks in the middle will be eligible for allotment only after all the candidates who had applied earlier with the required merit scores have been allotted the seats, informed the official. “A candidate applying for CSAS-2022 midway will not have any right to claim the seats allotted to candidates who applied for CSAS-2022 at the initial stage of application,” the official said.
“Allotment of seats to such candidates may be considered in subsequent rounds subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria, availability of seats and other rules of CSAS-2022,” the official added. The intermediate participant will have to accept the seat assigned to him. There will be no ‘upgrade’ option for such students.
The official said, “The interim entry will be considered only after the successful remittance of the interim entry amount.” Interim admission will not be allowed for programs based on the performance of BA(Hons) Music, BSc Physical Education, Health Education, and Sports) and ECA, Sports Supernumerary Quota.
