Delhi University will start the admission process for the academic year 2022-2023 from Monday with the introduction of Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS) on Monday.
The CSAS portal was supposed to be launched by the last week of August, but there has been a delay due to the delay in the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Delhi University will admit students this year through CUET results.
All phases of the debut edition of CUET-UG were originally scheduled to conclude on August 20, but the exam was further postponed and divided into six phases to accommodate students whose exam was postponed due to several glitches. CUET-UG finally concluded on August 30 with 60% participation.
University Grants Commission Chairman Jagadesh Kumar was quoted by news agency PTI as saying on Friday that “the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the CUET-UG results by September 15 or even a few days earlier if possible ,”
“All the participating universities can keep their online portals ready to start the UG admission process based on the CUET-UG score,” he added.
How will the admission process take place?
The new admission process through the CSAS portal will take place in three stages – submission of the CSAS 2022 application form, selection of programs and filling in preferences, and seat allocation and admission to the chosen course.
In the first phase, the candidate will fill out the CSAS 2022 application form through the online portal.
In the second phase, the candidate selects the program in which he wishes to secure enrollment. This phase can be done only after the declaration of CUET-UG Results 2022. After the declaration of CUET Results, candidates will have to confirm the programme-specific CUET-UG Merit Score.
And in the third phase, candidates will be selected for the applied programs through merit list.
Last month, DU announced the commencement of the admission process for the new academic session and asked the candidates to prepare their certificates and documents.
In March, UGC authorized all central universities to admit students through CUET examinations.
CUET is now the second largest exam in the country, after NEET-UG exams, which has an average of 18 lakh registrations.
