Erik ten Hag candidly admits Diogo Dalot ‘stressed’ ahead of Real Sociedad’s equalizer – Reporter – Man United News and Transfer News | Tech US News

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says his side simply have to win against Real Sociedad tomorrow. He indicated that the team has one primary goal – to win against the Spanish opposition by two or more goals.

The United boss spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s Europa League clash against Sociedad tomorrow.

United currently trail Sociedad in the table and need to beat them by two goals to go top and avoid a dreaded draw in the next round.

Ten Haga accompanied Casemiro on his media duties. The United boss stressed that he has a plan for tomorrow’s high-stakes affair.

He said: “Obviously it is important [to win against Sociedad]. We can win tomorrow night. We know what we have to do to win by two goals. But if you want to win the cup, you have to win all the matches, so we have to win every one.”

“It was six weeks ago or more [since losing to Sociedad] and this is a different team, not all players are ready. We are growing, developing and making good progress. We know it’s hard to win here, but we like the challenge.”

We know we have to win by two goals, we have a plan for that and we will do everything to make it happen.

On what to expect from Sociedad, Ten Hag said he was aware that the side and coach liked to play “poetic football” in the opposition’s shirt. But he insisted it was something the Red Devils needed to confront and overcome – sentiments echoed by Casemiro.

One player who came to the fore amid pressure from the Dutch boss was Diogo Dalot.

Ten Hag heaped praise on Dalot and said he was extremely pleased with the Portuguese defender’s development. However, in a candid admission, the United manager admitted that the player currently carries a heavy burden and reiterated the club’s need to bring in a secondary alternative.

“We are very happy with the development of Diogo, but I know that every club at the top needs support and competition,” he said.

The 52-year-old said that although he is aware that Dalot was physically stressed to the limit, the actor is more than capable of handling the stress due to his good physical profile.

The former Ajax coach also praised Casemiro for his attitude and brilliant work since joining the club. The Ten Hag confided that Casemiro had informed him that he had joined the Red Devils for a new challenge and to prove himself in a different environment – he is currently doing more than that.

Hopefully Ten Hag’s plan will work tomorrow and the team will achieve their goal of finishing top of the group.
