(Pocket-lint) – Oppo claims to be working on a new foldable phone, but unlike its first notebook-style foldable – the Oppo Find N – this one is claimed to be a clamshell device as well like Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 or Huawei P50 pocket.
The rumor of the product is a recent one, which means that we have not heard much about it, but there seems to be a gathering, which shows that the product can be good job
What is the name of Oppo?
- Code-name ‘Dragonfly’
- No sales name has been shown
For now, the flip phone (or clamshell) from Oppo is referred to as just that. We do not know what it will be called, however, it is said that Oppo is working with the name-brand ‘Dragonfly’ for the rumored foldable.
This code-name first appeared in a rumor from Digital Chat Station (via ITHome), a regular commentator on Weibo.
Purely as an educated guess, if – like the book style Find N – it is the flagship phone we have read it is, it would make sense to put it under the ‘Find’ brand name.
Price and availability
- Cheaper than competitors
- Around 5,000 Yuan in China – $1060 in Western markets
- Possible release summer 2022
Like the Find N when it first launched, it is guaranteed that the flip phone sibling will be cheaper than its competitors. Rumors have been reported by sources, Digital Forums (via Notebookcheck) that the phone will start for around 5,000 Yuan in China, which is roughly $750 or £620. However, previous rumors suggest that this will translate to a price of around $1060 / £880 worldwide.
The first rumors said that Oppo will announce the phone at some point this summer, but we haven’t seen any physical leaks or renders of the device, which point to a live phone. Far from advertising or Oppo doing a good job. kept secret. However, it is confirmed that this phone – along with the follow-up Find N – will be the company’s next phone.
Design and display
- Clamshell flip-phone style
- 120Hz Internal display
While the leaked images or renders have not yet been shown, it has been rumored that this is a flip phone in the style of Moto Razr, Huawei P50 Pocket and Galaxy Z Flip 3. That means it will have the narrow changes inside. , which folds closed to a palm-sized paper clamshell.
We expect that it will have the first camera and a small image on the front, but exactly what the image is is not clear at first. However, if it’s part of the Discovery series, we want the camera unit to have the uncompromising, ramping design of the Discovery N.
No specific specifications of the internal display have been revealed in terms of size and resolution, however it is confirmed that it will have a 120Hz refresh rate, just like the phone today in general. That should mean good work and work.
This detail comes from the same report that first mentioned the ‘Dragonfly’ code-name, claiming the flip phone will focus on being thin and light, as well as using a new hinge for the device folding.
Hardware specs and performance
- Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1?
- Fast charging?
Not much is known about the specific equipment. If it will be a flagship phone as rumored, it looks like it will feature one of Qualcomm’s strongest smartphone platforms. That could mean Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, or 8 Gen 1. However, Oppo may decide to go with something weaker in order to fulfill its lower demands.
One thing we can be sure of is that it will have some kind of SuperVOOC fast charging. Almost all of Oppo’s latest phones include fast charging of some description, offering 65W, 80W or even a more powerful version of most pocket-recently. For example, Find X5 Pro, has 80W charging speed.
