gave Mahindra XUV300 TGDi Sportz The automaker’s production facility has been spied, revealing its new front fascia and paint option over the standard subcompact SUV. The new Sports variant will get a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and will be launched on October 7.
It is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 50,000 over its existing petrol-powered variants. XUV300 Which retails between Rs 8.42 lakh to Rs 13.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Design changes in XUV300 Sportz
New spy shots reveal the missing link in the XUV300 Sportz’s cosmetic changes – its revised front end. It features a gloss black front grille with the new Mahindra ‘Twin Peaks’ logo and blacked-out air dams with red accents. Notably, the sports variant features a mustard yellow paint shade with a dual-tone black roof.
We’re yet to get a look at the interior of the production-spec SUV, but going by the changes seen in the model showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, the XUV300 Sportz should get a complete cosmetic revision on the inside. Other changes are likely to get a black-themed interior with red accents on the dashboard.
It remains to be seen which trim levels will be offered on the XUV300 Sportz. The fully loaded SUV should be feature-packed with a seven-inch touchscreen, sunroof, dual-zone AC, leather seats and cruise control. Additionally, it could get the extensive suite of connected car features we’ve seen in the XUV400 electric SUV.
As for the safety kit, the SUV is already equipped with six airbags, stability control, corner braking control, hill assist and rear disc brakes.
New powertrain features
The XUV300’s current petrol engine is no slouch at 110PS and 200Nm, but Mahindra has developed a direct injection version of this mill dubbed the 1.2-litre mStallion TGDi engine which is even more powerful with 130PS and 230Nm output, mated to a six-speed manual as standard. . While the standard XUV300 gets an AMT option, an automatic is not expected to be offered with the enthusiast-friendly TGDi version.
Nevertheless, equipped with the new engine, the XUV300 TGDi will be the most powerful, and possibly the fastest, subcompact SUV in its segment.
