Fabinho is ignoring the Liverpool-Man Utd row as he has admitted as much about his summer signing from the Red Devils | Tech US News

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho insists he has a good relationship with Manchester United ace Casemiro despite their rivalry for the Brazilian side.

Fabinho, 29, has been with the Reds since the summer of 2018 and has made 191 appearances in all competitions. Casemiro, one year old, is a new addition to the English game, having moved to Old Trafford from Real Madrid in August. The hard-nosed schemer has taken his time to find his footing, but now he’s making an impression on the Red Devils.

Fabinho and Casemiro are part of the Brazilian team that will fight for the World Cup in Qatar. And they are direct rivals for a place in midfield in Tite’s Selecao team.

Casemiro has generally won this clash, with 65 international caps since his debut in 2011.

Fabinho won his first win in 2015 and has been awarded 28 times.

It remains to be seen which of the two stars will be cast for the upcoming show in the Middle East.

However, having briefly played with Casemiro while the duo were on Real Madrid’s books, Fabinho is clearly comfortable with his compatriot.

“I remember when Casao came to Real Madrid Castilla, then there was only one Spaniard in the team,” he said GE Globo.

“You get on well with the boys, they were all good people, boys of a similar age, but when there’s a Brazilian in the team, it’s different, isn’t it?

“You automatically get close to the guy; and you start having daily reviews.

“Even though you are someone who opposes the position, I can say that our relationship is good. He is a guy I had contact with, I talk to him normally.”

Fabinho praises rivals Man Utd

Fabinho has been a regular starter for Jurgen Klopp since his arrival on Merseyside. According to a difficult start to the current seasonnow he seems to be back somewhere close to his best.

The South American is the glue that holds the German’s midfield together and allows an array of attacking talent to do their thing.

He started 11 times in 14 top-flight appearances in 2022-23. Casemiro is expected to have a similar impact during his time at the Theater of Dreams.

The former Sao Paulo star scored his first goal for United on October 22 in a 1:1 draw with Chelsea. He has now started six times in the league and five times in the Champions League.

Fabinho admitted he has been in contact with his Brazilian since his move to England. And the Anfield ace believes his Brazilian rival is proving his worth under Erik ten Hag.

“Now that he has come to England, I have spoken to him in the national team,” he added. “I asked him how he was adjusting to leaving the club where he spent nine years.

“Casao is an experienced boy, he was very successful at Real Madrid, he is doing well at Manchester United.

“Despite being a guy I’m competing with for a position, I get on really well because I’ve played with him and I know him well.”

Many Premier League stars are vying for a place in Brazil

Fabinho and Casemiro aren’t the only midfielders in the Canarinho squad familiar to Premier League fans.

United’s Fred, Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes and West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta are also on board for the global event.

Liverpool Goalkeeper Allison and Manchester City striker Ederson will also be in Qatar.

Chelsea veteran Thiago Silva, United striker Antony, Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli and Tottenham’s Richarlison complete Tite’s England-based contingent.

There are many battles ahead, but it seems that the one for the supporting center will be solely on the field.
