HUNTSVILLE | General admission to the University of Alabama at Huntsville men’s and women’s basketball regular season home games this season will be free thanks to the generosity of Bill Penney Toyota.

Admission is free for bleacher seats accessible on the second floor of Spragins Hall, home of the Chargers.

UAH opens its home season this Friday and Saturday with the Bill Penney Crossover Classic, in which the Chargers play Saint Leo on opening night at 7 p.m., before playing Tampa at 4 p.m. the next day. Fellow Gulf South Conference member Montevallo is also on the field and will play at 5pm on Friday and 2pm on Saturday. Both Tampa and Saint Leo represent the Sunshine State Conference in this cross-regional event.

“It’s been great being involved with UAH basketball all these years and we’re excited about the potential for this season,” said Hunter Johnson, COO/Partner at Bill Penney Toyota. “We hope this free admission we’re providing will encourage even more fans to come out and enjoy the Chargers and see what great work UAH does.”

“We appreciate what Bill Penney Toyota offers the fans and appreciate the support it has provided throughout the years,” said UAH Director of Athletics Dr. Cade Smith. “This will provide even more exposure and support for our student-athletes.”

UAH has a similar program in conjunction with Alabama Credit Union that provides free admission to Charger volleyball games at Spragins Hall and softball, baseball, lacrosse and football games at Charger Park during the regular season.

Single-match reserved seating is also available for matches in the 2022-23 season.
