Graham Potter welcomes Raheem Sterling amid Chelsea FC’s poor form | Tech US News

Sterling has struggled at Chelsea since his £50million move from Manchester City in the summer, scoring just once in his last 10 appearances.

He returns to his former club in the Carabao Cup tonight as he looks to be in some form ahead of the World Cup.

Blues boss Potter said: “He’s in his prime, he’s got all the quality you see every day in training and the desire is there.

“He wants to help the team. He suffers with the team like the rest of us. We all want to be better and we all want to improve our performance and we want to improve the performance of the team.

“There is work here. It’s not about zooming in on individuals, I don’t think that’s fair to anyone.

“I think we didn’t work well enough as a team, so the criticism is aimed at me, at the collective, at all of us, in terms of can we be better as a team to create more chances, not just for him, but for everyone?

“When we play Arsenal, it’s about [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, when we play City, it’s about Sterling, but in the end it’s always about the team.”

Potter is expected to replace his side at the Etihad Stadium after Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal.
