Jabeur admitted the defeat of Sabalenka after the victory over Pegula: “I’m used to being depressed for the next two days when I lose” | Tech US News

Ons Jabeur came back from a set down to beat Jessica Pegula in three sets and it was the second time she beat the American this year.

Jabeur did not look good in the opening set and lost 1-6 against Pegula who played very fast, made quick decisions and hit the ball very well. Jabeur admitted as much after the game, explaining:

“After the first set, she played very well and very fast. The balls were hard, very low – I know she likes to play with balls like that. And I just had to find that click to change the rhythm and impose my game.”

Jabeur surprised herself by coming back against Pegula, revealing that the losses make her very sad and depressed:

“Honestly, it was very difficult. Because I’m used to being depressed for the next two days after I lose. I didn’t have much time. It was very difficult to sleep the first day, to be honest with you. I lost the first match, but now I’m back in the game. One game left. It’s hard and everyone is trying to give 100 percent. You don’t get many opportunities, so you really have to focus.”
