John Stamos downplays Lori Loughlin’s involvement in college admissions scandal | Tech US News

During an appearance on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast on Monday, Stamos insisted that Loughlin was not the main culprit in the scandal, which also resulted in prison sentences for Loughlin’s husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, and actor Felicity Huffman.

“I will say this and she said yes,” Stamos said. “She wasn’t really the architect of any of this – she was behind the scenes. She didn’t know what was going on.”

Loughlin pleaded guilty to paying half a million dollars in a scam to put her two daughters through college, but Stamos felt that Loughlin deserved some credit for how she has atoned for her role in the scandal over the past few years .

In addition to the two months behind bars, Loughlin was ordered to serve two years of supervised release, a $150,000 fine, and 100 hours of community service.

“She also paid a lot of money. She establish a student fund for children, and she went to damn jail man,” he added.

In October 2021, Loughlin was mocked on Twitter after she and her husband made a private arrangement to put two unidentified students through college for about $500,000.

Stamos has shown support for Loughlin in the past. Last month, for example, the two made a TikTok video together, calling the initial arrest “a difficult situation for everyone involved.”

Although Loughlin’s career took a hit after her arrest, EW notes that she has returned to acting in shows likeWhen the heart calls,” ”Garage Sale Secrets,” and “When hope calls.”
