Jordan Henderson enters the dressing room after realizing that all is not well at Liverpool | Tech US News

Jordan Henderson has admitted that things are far from perfect at Liverpool, as evidenced most clearly by the club’s top league form.

Regardless, the England international made it clear that he has full faith in the men he shares the dressing room with, citing the squad’s remarkable resilience over the years.

“People are quick to jump to what went wrong but only four or five months ago we played all the games we could, won two trophies, got to the Champions League final and lost the league by a point,” the Reds captain told the Daily Mail .

“You have to put things into perspective a little bit. That doesn’t mean everything is great, because it isn’t.

“But I know the players in the dressing room and I know that every time they play they will give their best.

“The most important thing is how you deal with adversity and setbacks. We have done this very well in the last few years. And now we have to do it again.”

The Merseysiders are set to face Tottenham in north London with a 10-point margin separating the two Premier League sides (the former have a game in hand).

Few could have predicted that before the World Cup we would be so far from the top four after a season that promised so much and delivered only half of it.

As Bobby Firmino proved so wonderfully in 2022/23, however, there is no need to be quick to throw players on the rubbish heap and we will expect the best from a woefully out-of-form Fabinho going forward.

Recruiting should be seen as a matter of urgency in the next two transfer windows, but this side should still have plenty in the tank as it stands to make a serious challenge for the Champions League spots.
