LEXINGTON, Virginia – The VMI men’s basketball team will face a tough test Sunday in a road meet at Davidson College at 2 p.m.

The Keydets:
*VMI posted a 100-58 win over Penn State New Kensington on Thursday night at the Keydets Local opening 2022-23. It was the first win for the new main mentor Andrew Wilson as VMI’s head coach.
*First year babysitters Asher Woods (22) and Tony fieldsJr. (20) each broke the 20-point barrier and posted career-high point totals.
*Felder, Jr. he added seven assists, five rebounds and two steals
*Woods’ 22 points were a game high and he also had six rebounds and four assists. He leads the team with 15 points per game so far
* Junior Devin Butler drilled five 3-pointers for a career-high 15 points with five rebounds
*Taeshaud Jackson II scored 15 points and six rebounds

The wild cats:
*Davidson is 2-0 on the new season after a 102-97 double-overtime win at Wright State on Wednesday night
*Foster Loyer narrowly missed a triple-double with 38 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.
*Through two games, Loyer is averaging 34.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor and drilling 11-of-20 3-pointers.
*The forward duo of Sam Mennenga (13.5) and Reed Bailey (12.5) are also averaging double figures for the Wildcats.
