Mahindra Thar and Scorpio N in Drag Quick Race video | Tech US News

Mahindra is one of the popular SUVs manufacturers in the country and has a wide variety of SUVs in their portfolio. The Mahindra Thar is currently the most affordable 4×4 SUV offered in the market and has a huge following. Earlier this year, Mahindra launched the all-new Scorpio N in India and just like other Mahindra products, the Scorpio N received a great response. Since its launch, we have been seeing several interesting videos of the Scorpio N on the internet. We have also featured some of them on our website. Here we have another video where a Scorpio N and a Mahindra 4×4 SUV compete against each other in a drag race.

This video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger takes his Scorpio N and Mahindra Thar SUV on a highway that is closed for construction. This was done to avoid any accidents as there would be no traffic on the closed road. The vlogger starts by talking about the engine specifications of both the SUVs. He said that both the SUVs are powered by diesel engines. Both the SUVs use the same engine but have different tuning. Mahindra Thar’s 2.2 liter mHawk turbocharged diesel engine produces 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The same engine produces 172 Bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque in the Scorpio N.

Both the SUVs seen here are 4×4 variants. The only difference is the gearbox. The Thar gets an automatic transmission while the Scorpio N seen here comes with a 6-speed manual. On paper, the Scorpio N looked powerful but, the owner points out, the Thar won the tug-of-war competition despite being less powerful. The race was conducted in multiple rounds. For the first round, vlogger Scorpio was driving N and his friend was in Thar. They both prepare for the race by turning off the traction control and AC.

Mahindra Scorpio N vs Thar 4×4 SUV: Who Will Win the Drag Race? [Video]

The race starts and immediately the Mahindra Scorpio N is ahead. The Thar is right behind the Scorpio N but, at no point does it overtake the lead car. Mahindra Scorpio N maintained the lead throughout the round. The car settings and drivers remained the same for the second round. The race started and just like the first round, the Scorpio N took the lead. The vlogger tried to give Thar an advantage by not changing gears and accelerating too aggressively. Thar took the lead for a few seconds but the moment the Scorpion accelerated, it took the lead back.

For the third round, the drivers changed vehicles. The blogger was now in Thar and his friend in Scorpio N. The race starts and his friend messes up the launch in the Scorpio N. This gave Thar an advantage and he immediately took the lead. The car held the lead for some distance but at the end of the track Scorpio picked up the pace and won the round. In the final round, vlogger Scorpio N missed a gear and that meant Thar won the final round. Scorpio N was announced as the winner of the race.
