Mike McCarthy has a lot of credit for Odell Beckham Jr. | Tech US News

Could be Odell Beckham Jr. on the way to the Cowboys? The player himself recently named Dallas as one of four teams in an interview with Complex Sports. While the 30-year-old didn’t actually name them as a final four, it’s a conclusion many jumped to.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy spoke with the media and shared his thoughts on his team possibly acquiring the talented receiver.

McCarthy said via si.com:

“Especially Odell, I’ve always been a big fan of his. By Ben McAdoo, Joe Whitt [Jr.]all the guys that I’ve worked with, from the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns, they all have great things to say about him.”

#Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said, “We really love our receiver group.” But with free agent WR Odell Beckham, I’ve always been a big fan of his. … I just heard so many great, great things about him.” #DallasCowboys

McCarthy added:

“Obviously, I’ve always been so impressed with his ability to play football, but I’ve heard so many great, great things about him over the years. I think those are conversations for the future. Right now, we’re focused on our guys.”

McCarthy can’t say much more than that. If fans were hoping the head coach would come out and campaign for a referee receiver, they were disappointed. With so much water still under the bridge, hopefully we’ll learn more about Beckham Jr.’s next move soon.

Without a doubt. Dallas is averaging 22.9 points per game (ranked 14th). Adding the 30-year-old would give them an extra boost. With CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Dalton Schultz, Noah Brown and running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, Dallas has weapons.

But none are of Beckham’s caliber. The Cowboys are currently 6-2 on the season and trying to chase down the 8-0 Philadelphia Eagles while trying to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to AT&T Stadium for the first time since the 1990s.

If the 30-year-old were to choose Dallas, it would be a major coup. On the other hand, what kind of money does Odell Beckham Jr. want? Michael Gallup type money from all accounts.

It’s not known if Jerry Jones would want to give that much money to a player coming off his second ACL injury. But if he wants to go all-in for the year, he might have to.

Having a player like Beckham Jr. would get Cowboys fans excited and give them a big boost heading into the second half of the year.

But they are not the only team interested.
