India’s top three car manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Mahindra & Mahindra, have planned several new models in various segments that will arrive in two years. Here are the key details of upcoming new Maruti, Hyundai and Mahindra cars that will cost you less than Rs 10 lakh.

The Indo-Japanese automaker will introduce a new compact SUV based on the Baleno hatchback in early 2023. Codenamed Maruti YTB, the model will be showcased for the first time at the Delhi Auto Expo in January. Some of its design elements will be derived from the Grand Vitara. Speculations suggest that the new Maruti SUV will get its power from a 1.0L Boosterjet petrol engine that meets BS6 emission norms. The motor will benefit from a 48V mild hybrid SHVS system and deliver around 100bhp of power along with 150Nm. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. If reports are to be believed, the new generation Suzuki Swift will make its global debut in December 2022. The new model will enter India sometime next year. Major changes will be made in its exterior and interior. The 2023 Maruti Swift will feature a redesigned front grille, revised headlamps with new LED elements, updated front bumper with new C-shaped air splitters, larger dual-tone alloy wheels and new body panels. . Hyundai India has started testing the updated Grand i10 Nios facelift in the country. Expect minimal changes inside and out. The new hatchback model will continue to come with 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.2L petrol CNG powertrain options. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be offered. Its interior can be updated with new upholstery and interior theme. Most of its features will be carried over from the current model. Mahindra Bolero New Plus Launch

The Mahindra Bolero New Plus is likely to be launched in early 2023. Although, its official launch date is yet to be announced. The model will get its power from a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine which will be borrowed from Thar. However, the motor can be detuned to produce different power and torque outputs. The Bolero Neo Plus will be made available in two variants – P4 and P10. Buyers will have options to choose between 7-seater and 9-seater configurations. The model line-up will also include an ambulance variant with 4 seats and a patient bed. The SUV will be 4400mm long, 1795mm wide and 1812mm tall with a wheelbase of 2680mm. More details here…

The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is expected to hit showrooms before the end of 2022. Some changes are likely to be made to its exterior and interior. Although, the major update will come in the form of Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo. The 2022 XUV300 will continue to use the 1.2L turbo-petrol engine that delivers 110bhp and the 1.5L diesel motor at 115bhp.
