New Dean of Admissions and Associate Vice President Named – News | Tech US News

After an extensive national search, Vice President of Enrollment Management Monica Inzer has announced that John T. McLaughlin will join Hamilton as Dean of Admissions and Associate Vice President effective Jan. 3. McLaughlin will join Hamilton from the University of Pennsylvania, where he serves as associate dean and director of admissions.

McLaughlin, who will report directly to Inzer, will be responsible for overseeing Hamilton’s admissions strategy, managing all aspects of recruitment and selection, and maintaining and enhancing the college’s recent successes in breaking down barriers and attracting a record number of talented and diverse students from around the world. .

“John brings a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and an exceptional blend of experience in highly selective admissions, strategic thinking, data-driven analysis and planning, and day-to-day staff management and development,” said Inzer. “I am confident that his skills will only complement and strengthen an already strong reception team and I look forward to the positive impact he will have on Hamilton.”

At the University of Pennsylvania, McLaughlin previously served as interim dean of admissions, in addition to his responsibilities as associate dean, director of admissions. Prior to joining Penn, he served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Consortium for the Financing of Higher Education (COFHE). McLaughlin holds an Ed.D. in higher education from Harvard Graduate School of Education, M.Sc. Graduated from University of Oxford and BA from Penn.
