The couple often posts declarations of love on their Instagram accounts and recently celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary.

But Nicola has now revealed that she once had to let her husband down in the most brutal way!

In an interview with The Sunday Times magazine, StyleNicola said: “Last year I directed a film I wrote when I was 23 [Lola James]. And Brooklyn’s still mad at me, but he said, “Can I be in your movie?” And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’d be honored, but we have to mask you.’

“Obviously he’s covered in tattoos and he’s British. So, he’s done a few background roles that if you pay attention you can find, but in one scene he’s like, ‘Can I turn on the mic, I want to say a line?'”

After complying with his request, Nicola admitted that the scene did not go according to plan. “And I started laughing so hard. He had the most British accent ever,” she admitted. “I ended up cutting it! He was sitting there in the editing room, he said, ‘Did you really just turn me off while I was sitting here?’… I was like, ‘Yes, I love you.’ very!'”

Despite not making it into the speaking part, Nicola confirmed that Brooklyn will appear in her film as an extra during a scene.

Lola James is set in 2002 and follows the story of 19-year-old Lola, who tries to save enough money to get her brother Arlo out of their ‘toxic’ home.
