North Carolina Aquariums offer free admission for veterans | Tech US News

RALEIGH, NC (WITN) – Three of our nation’s aquariums are honoring veterans and their families with free admission on Veterans Day.

The North Carolina Aquariums at Fort Fischer, Pine Knoll Shores and Roanoke Island are offering free admission to all veterans (active, reserve or retired) and their dependents on Friday, November 11th from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

On that day, staff will honor military families with patriotic greetings during animal encounters and enrichment time.

“Our staff, volunteers and visitors look forward to being able to thank the many service members, past and present, and their families on Veterans Day at the Aquarium. We are grateful for the service and sacrifice of these heroes and look forward to welcoming them as our special guests on the day,” said Maylon White, Director, North Carolina Aquariums.

WITN said the day will also be open to the public, but entry will only be available through online ticketing. Holidays and special events sell out very quickly, so visitors are encouraged to plan ahead. Visit the sites below:

The North Carolina Aquarium also emphasizes that service members must pack military IDs for themselves and their family members, who are eligible for free admission.
