Oppo Thailand held an event today, introducing the Reno8 series, and along with the vanilla Reno8 and Reno8 Pro with Marisilicon NPU, we saw a new phone – Oppo Reno8 Z 5G.
Well mostly new – it has the same specs as the Reno7 Z 5G, down to the chipset and memory configuration, but now it comes with a new design and a bright Dawnlight gold color.
The phone is powered by Snapdragon 695 and is available in Thailand with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 6.43″ OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and the fingerprint sensor at the bottom have been retained.
The cameras are also the same – 64MP main, 2MP macro, 2MP depth sensor. The Reno8 Z 5G is advertised as “Portrait Expert”, while the Reno7 Z 5G is sold in Thailand with the slogan “Frame yourself”, which is essentially the same – after all, even the front camera is the same 16MP f. / 2.4 shooter.
This phone is part of the Reno8 series, meaning the design is the same as the other Reno8 phones – the camera island is now attached to the frame and apparently, Oppo uses different components because the Reno8 Z is a little thicker and heavier than the Reno7 Z.
The battery remains the same – 4,500mAh capacity with 33W charging support, while the UI is now ColorOS 12.1, based on Android 12.
Oppo is also selling the Reno8 Z 5G in black. Pre-orders start today and will continue until next Sunday, August 14. The open sale starts after that, and the price of the phone is THB12,990, which is approximately $ 360 / €355.
