Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has rejected the revised list of candidates released by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the academic session 2022-2023.

A bench comprising Justice BR Sarangi and Justice Gourishankar Satpathy, while hearing a petition filed by Abhishek Bhabani Panda, said such a merit list is reportedly not permitted by law.

The court ruled that the first merit list published on October 18 will remain valid and admission will be done as per the first list. The HC on Thursday also directed the authorities to conduct admissions keeping in mind the privileges of Divyang candidates.

The court also directed the OJEE administration to facilitate the admission of candidate Divyang, petitioner Panda reportedly said.

It has been reported that OJEE has released the merit list for admission to MBBS/BDS courses for the academic year 2022-2023 on October 18. The investor was in fifth place on the list. However, he was ranked 33rd in the revised merit list published later. The candidate challenged the revised list as he feared that he might not be admitted to the Divyang quota.
