Pep Guardiola acknowledges the future of Man City | Tech US News

Pep Guardiola has admitted he would be hard-pressed to find a better place to manage than Manchester City.

Guardiola has stayed in Manchester for longer than many expected, and his time in charge is already considerably longer than his spells at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

His contract expires in 2023 and it is not yet clear whether he will sign a new contract or leave for new challenges.

As for the future, he admitted that he would struggle to find the freedom and stability he currently enjoys anywhere else.

“[Would I] stay in another place for seven years? No, I don’t think so. It’s hard to find what I have here as a manager,” he said.

“To be a manager for a long time, you have to be so supported. The results help a lot, that’s for sure. In this world you get fired, you get fired, we know that.

“But at big clubs, part of the success of a manager is the chairman, especially the sporting director, the general managers and all the people here.

“It’s about the media, the fans and the players. There is stability. That’s why I think this can only happen in a few clubs.”

The World Cup winter break would be a logical time for him and the club to discuss a new deal, but he declined to say whether or not talks are planned in the coming weeks.

“I’ve said many times I’m not talking about it,” he said.

“Everything is under control, it is perfect, the decision will be made together with the club at the moment when it is necessary.

“When we have time, when we feel both sides, we decide.”
