Refund of fee to students whose admission has been cancelled: UGC institutes | Career and Campus | Tech US News

The UGC has directed the institutions to refund the tuition fees of students whose admissions to postgraduate courses have been cancelled. If you do not strictly follow the instructions, institutions may be given the option of revoking the university’s approval.

Students whose admission was canceled before October 31 are entitled to a full refund. If their admission is canceled before December 31, they are still entitled to a refund with a reduction of Rs.1000. On August 2, the UGC sent a letter to higher education institutions explaining the instructions.

The instruction was given on the basis of complaints from students that many institutes are not refunding the registration fee. They also warned that institutions that do not comply with the instructions will have their scholarships revoked and their recognitions revoked.

No cancellation fees

Since the results of entrance exams like JEE-Main, NEET-UGC along with this year’s State Admission to Post Graduate Studies (CUETUG) have been delayed, many students have found provisional admissions in various institutions. Keeping in view these special circumstances, the UGC directed that the admission fee and fee should be refunded to the students.
