Thanksgiving travel increases the day before the holiday | Tech US News

If you are traveling by plane or car the day before Thanksgiving, it is expected to be the busiest travel day.

Palm Springs International Airport hopes to set new records this year. 20% more passengers are expected to leave the airport overall this holiday season compared to last year.

The airport expects at least 7,600 people to fly out on Wednesday alone.

The airport’s assistant manager said the main parking lot is almost at capacity, and while there are still overflow parking lots, they could also fill up quickly. It is recommended that you take public transport or drop it off to avoid the hassle of finding parking before your flight.

If you take a flight today, you are asked to arrive 2.5 hours early if you need to check in your luggage. If you only have hand luggage, you can arrive 90 minutes early.

For those planning to travel by car, the Auto Club recommends traveling before 8:00 a.m. or waiting until after 8:00 p.m.

The day before Thanksgiving is considered a peak travel day.
