The $26 Amazon Prime deal you must buy if you’re going to Disney | Tech US News

These prices were accurate as of the Amazon Prime Day sale on October 12th and will vary after that time.

It’s Amazon Prime Day (yes, again), and that’s good news if you’ve got a big theme park trip on the horizon.

TPG has a roundup of some of the best travel-related deals in the Prime Early Access sale that you should check out, but there’s one seemingly small and easy-to-overlook item I wanted to call out if you’re planning a trip to Disney. World or Disneyland: FuelRods.

In the parks, FuelRods are $30 each, but right now you can get a two-pack for about $26 through the Amazon Prime sale. Obviously, paying $13 each, instead of $30 each at the park, is a savings worth noting.

You need these in the parks because you’ll probably be taking a lot of pictures, checking wait times, ordering food, and reserving your Genie+ Lightning Lanes, which can drain your phone battery in a hurry. There are tons of power banks on the market that you can buy and bring, but while you’re at Disney, an easy solution that doesn’t require a lot of preparation or extra weight to carry around is to use FuelRods.

You can exchange these pocket drum boosters at the machines in the parks. Plus, once you buy a FuelRod, you can trade it in for free at Disney as many times as you want. Just throw what you’ve used up into the machine and out comes a fully charged one that’s ready to go.

GUY DOTS SUMMER HELMET

I’m a big phone user at the parks and tend to get a few hours out of each FuelRod, so a two-pack is basically perfect for my family to buy and throw in our park bag.

While it’s free to exchange your FuelRods at machines located at Disney parks, it will cost you $3 at Universal. That makes them a little less attractive to use there. However, it’s still better to buy the FuelRods for less upfront than paying $30 at the parks if you think you’ll use them to power them up.

So while you’re hunting down some of the top Prime Day deals, don’t miss out on this small but powerful way to save on a must-have item for your next trip to Disney.
