The National Medical Board allows admissions to MBBS to colleges awaiting recognition

The first year of the MBBS program will be held from November 15

The National Medical Commission has allowed colleges with ongoing recognition to grant admission to Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) for the academic year 2022-2023 for the same number of seats admitted in the academic year 2021-22. “Colleges denied any recognition by NMC due to legal issue, cancellation of batch/stoppage of admission, are not considered eligible for permission to admit MBBS students in the academic year 2022-23,” the NMC notification said. NMC has already released the academic calendar 2022-23 for MBBS program, MBBS first year batch classes will be held between 15th November 2022 and 15th December 2023. The second year of MBBS program will start on 16th December 2023. The duration of MBBS program is 13 months . Meanwhile, the NMC has issued guidelines for Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance system in medical colleges. “Biometric attendance will be available on the medical college website in the form of a daily attendance dashboard. The medical college/institution is responsible for installing and maintaining the biometric attendance system,” the NMC notification said.

The NMC has also directed the universities to conduct the supplementary exams within a month and declare the results within 15 days. For details about NMC guidelines visit the website – nmc.org.in.
