I tend to go through phases of traveling heavy and traveling light.

Right now, I prefer the convenience and ease of traveling light, and that means no unnecessarily large chargers, bulky cables, and heavy power banks.

Here is the kit I made.

It’s small, light, portable and yet perfect when you travel with mine iPhone, Apple Watche AirPods.

A great multi-purpose wireless charger.

The Apple MagSafe Duo Wireless Charger is a foldable charger that, for me, is ideal for travel. You can charge your iPhone and Apple Watch together on a nightstand, and you can place your AirPods case or AirPods Pro in the MagSafe charger when you need the occasional power top-up.

The MagSafe Duo packs small, but opens up into a super convenient charging station, with the added bonus of no annoying lights to keep you up at night.

Don’t let the size fool you – this little charger is very powerful (ignore the fact that I have the UK version here – the US version is the same apart from the plug and the power it uses).

This 30W charger is capable of powering the Apple MagSafe Duo charging pad when charging both an iPhone and Apple Watch, and it can double as a stand-alone charger when you want a faster charge than what MagSafe will provide.

This power bank is an excellent combination of technologies: a 6000 mAh power bank (enough for almost a full charge on the largest iPhones) capable of charging up to 15 W wireless (7.5 W on the iPhone) and 20 W of cable charging, and the convenience of being able to connect to the iPhone using MagSafe.

A great piece of kit and much cheaper than the Apple equivalent.

Yes, you will need a cable. Apple’s Lightning-to-USB-C is a good choice because you have a small, lightweight, and durable cable that will power both your MagSafe Duo charger and just your iPhone.
