The Mahindra XUV700 is the most feature-packed and advanced SUV from the Indian manufacturer ever. It got a great response from the customers and the waiting period for the SUV was extremely long. Still, there is a waiting period on some variants of the Mahindra XUV700. The Mahindra XUV700 grabbed the attention of buyers for its premium looks, premium cabin and several segment-first features including ADAS. Competitive pricing was also a factor behind its success. It is available in MX and AX series. Here we have a video comparing the AX5 and AX7 variants of the Mahindra XUV700 to see which is the better value for money.

This video has been uploaded by The Car Show on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger compares the features on the AX5 and AX7 variants of the Mahindra XUV700. Both the SUVs seen here are 7-seater variants. Vlogger starts from the outside. The black one seen here is the AX5 while the white one is the AX7 model. Both the SUVs come with all LED headlamps, twin LED DRLs and LED turn indicators. A bright back front grille with new Mahindra logo is common across all variants. The AX7 variant also misses out on the 360-degree camera as it is only available with the Luxury Pack. The fog lamps are LEDs on both variants.

Coming to the side profile, the AX5 gets 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels while the AX7 comes with 18-inch units. The ORVMs are electrically adjustable on both variants but, the electrically folding function is only available with the AX7. Both the SUVs get flush fitting door handles and the tail lamps are also LED. The AX7 gets a reverse parking camera but the AX5 variant misses it. The AX7 also offers ADAS which the AX5 variant does not get. Two parking sensors on the rear bumper are a standard feature.

Both the AX5 and AX7 come with a premium looking cabin. The AX7 variant offers Ice Gray leather upholstery on the seats, doors and dashboard. The AX5 has black fabric seats and the ice gray color panels are plastic instead of leather. Both SUVs get twin 10:25-inch displays on the dashboard and panoramic sunroof. The AX5 variant misses out on features like push-button start/stop, keyless entry, cruise control, etc. The AX7 variant offers all these features and ADAS as well. The AX5 comes with manual AC controls while the AX7 variant comes with dual-zone climate control and electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function.

Mahindra is offering 6 airbags with the AX7 variant while the AX5 variant gets only 2. Both variants are available with petrol and diesel engine options and Mahindra is also offering automatic and manual versions. Here is the automatic seen in the video. Both are diesel variants and use a 2.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 185 Ps and 450 Nm of peak torque. The Vlogger mentioned that the ex-showroom price difference of these two SUVs is around Rs 2 lakh and if a buyer is looking for an SUV under Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, then the AX5 is a good buy but if you are looking for a feature. are looking for A loaded SUV then the AX7 makes more sense.
