During the holiday season, almost everyone has a busy schedule of traveling, shopping, and cooking, so it’s hard to get any of these things done. Google Maps has collected trends to give you recommendations on when to shop and travel to avoid the crowds doing the same.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and that usually means feasts with lots of cooking. If you plan to stop by the grocery store to buy ingredients for dinner, Google recommends that you visit the store every Tuesday at 9:00 AM. During that time, grocery stores are often the least busy in the United States. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, you may want to skip shopping on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., as that’s the busiest time for grocery shopping.

Thinking of bringing candy to the party instead of a homemade casserole? To avoid crowds, Google recommends that you go to the bakery on Monday at 3:00 PM for the least number of people and avoid going on Saturday at 10:00 AM.

Now that you’ve got all your food ordered, here’s how to plan to leave the house for your Thanksgiving celebration destination: If you’re on a road trip, the best time to start your trip is Monday at 8 p.m. Traffic peaks around 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM on the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so you may want to avoid driving around.

If you have to start your travels on Thanksgiving itself, Google suggests going before noon or after 5:00 p.m., as you can expect the heaviest traffic between 3 and 5 p.m.

If you make it through Thanksgiving dinner and out of a food coma in time for Black Friday shopping, here’s where to go: On Black Friday, traffic picks up at noon and peaks around 4:00 p.m. all of the United States.
