Tom Brady makes surprising admission in TB12 video | Tech US News

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady may have briefly retired this past season, but it actually wasn’t the first time he’s considered retirement. In fact, he had already considered retirement almost two decades ago.

Brady posted a video on Twitter detailing his earlier thoughts on retirement. At first he wanted to leave at the age of 27. At this point in his career, he had just won his second Super Bowl and was highly regarded in the NFL MVP voting. Since the age of 27, he has won the MVP award twice and won five more Super Bowl titles.

It’s even more interesting to think about what Patriots history would have been like if Brady retired at age 27. The magical streak of 20 years of success probably wouldn’t have lasted as long and the history of the Patriots might have looked completely different.

Brady admitted as much in a video for The TB12 Method on Wednesday.

“When I was 27, I almost retired from the game of football because of elbow pain. Now I’m 45 years old and I’m still here,” Brady said. “Regardless of age, regardless of obstacles. It’s about how you feel and what you do.”

Brady is now in his 23rd season in the NFL. It’s safe to say that elbow pain was just a blip in a storied career.
