Mahindra launched the all-new XUV700 SUV in the market last year. The SUV was an instant hit and there is still a long wait for this SUV. It is Mahindra’s most feature-packed SUV ever. It became popular among buyers due to its premium looks, features and competitive pricing. Mahindra has now updated the XUV700 and here we have a video of the base MX variant of the 2022 version of the Mahindra XUV700.

This video has been uploaded by The Car Show on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger discusses how the base MX variant of the XUV700 looks in a walkaround video. He starts from the front. The gloss black grille with silver inserts and Mahindra logo has been retained. The headlamp design also remains the same, but it does not come with LED lamps. They are now halogen units and it also misses out the LED DRLs and LED turn indicators. Fog lamps are also missing in the base version.

Coming to the side profile, the XUV700 comes with 17-inch steel rims. ORVMS are electrically adjustable but, they do not offer an electric folding function. The ORVMs are finished in gloss black and also come with integrated LED turn indicators. Flush fitting door handles are also offered but, they do not come out when the car is unlocked. At the rear, the SUV gets LED tail lamps and a roof-mounted spoiler. It misses out on the rear windscreen wiper and defogger. A reverse parking camera is also omitted from the base version. However, it offers two parking sensors. There is no panoramic sunroof and it has a regular antenna mounted on the roof.

As we step inside, the cabin’s dual-tone theme continues on the doors and dashboard. It becomes black and ice gray in tone. The car offers four power windows and comes with manual AC, small touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto. The base variant of the XUV700 is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There are lots of storage spaces and none of the panels are finished in gloss black. The steering wheel is tilt adjustable and houses the control switch for the infotainment system.

The seats are fabric and come with manual adjustment for height as well. There are also AC vents for rear passengers. Although, this is a basic variant, Mahindra is offering quite a number of features which is a good thing. The base variant is only available with two-row seats and this gives us a larger boot which is not available in the higher variants. There are LED cabin lamps and adjustable armrests for both front and rear passengers. Overall, the XUV700 base variant at Rs 13.96 lakh, ex-showroom (diesel) looks like a good package. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 200 Ps 2.0 liter mStallion turbo petrol engine and the diesel version uses a 2.2 liter mHawk turbocharged engine that produces less power and torque than the top variant.
